Helped me to understand my friend so much better

I have a friend who is an alcoholic and it has been difficult for me to know what to do for her. This book has helped me so much to know exactly what to do so that I not only help them, but help myself. It gave me an insight into the mind of an alcoholic, something that I have never been able to even imagine. I really like the part about detaching yourself from the alcoholic. This is hard to do at first, but so worth it because I now know that this is an important step in the process. Unfortunately my friend hasn't hit rock bottom, but with the help of this book, I know what to do when she gets there. This is definitely a must read if you are going through similar problems like me.

Inspirational and Extremely Helpful book

This book really has a lot of helpful information in it. I wish I could have read something like this years ago when I was dealing with my alcoholic mother until she passed away. Dealing with someone who has this problem is a lot harder than it looks. People on the outside don't understand the daily battle you have with an alcoholic. This author changed that for me. The author has truly experienced this situation because that's the only way you can offer honest advice which is what you get with this book. Every word that I read in this book offered advice and comments that hit so close to home.
I have another alcoholic family member that I wasn't sure I could help. I thought well start distancing yourself because you know where this is going to lead, death. After all I had been here before. But that's not the right way to handle this situation. Turning your back on a family member is not going to help. I now have the right tools and resources to try and help this family member because of this book.
This book is something you should buy without a second thought. It will help you when dealing with someone who has an alcohol problem or even if you have the problem yourself because the author told us their own tale. I highly recommend this book.

This has changed my life!

The ideas I gained from “Proven Methods For Dealing With Alcoholics” are really helping me cope with my spouse’s alcohol addiction. We’ve been married for 15 years. Before reading this book, I’d just about reached my wits end. I was so close to divorcing my spouse because I was exhausted with all the fighting. After reading this book, I decided to really work at loving my spouse without conditions. I also have experienced a renewed sense of hope and dedication to my spouse. I’ve been implementing the suggested methods and they are working. We’ve been fighting less and even though my alcoholic spouse is still drinking heavily, I’ve been able to shift my focus away from my spouses alcoholism, detach from the chaos and focus on me more. As a result, I’ve been more peaceful and have been sleeping much better.
