Okay, as per the usual Shattered starts off right where Riptide left off. Mari has walked straight into Trystan's own personal (H.E.L.L.). When Trystan and his father go into the house Mari doesn't know what to do, all she knows is she can't leave Trystan alone.

When the police show up they take Mari back home, and Trystan to the police station. They're both beaten and bruised. When Trystan is told he can finally leave he goes to the only safe place he knows, the school. When Mari shows up and finds him, she helps him cover up the marks.

When Mari invites Trystan to stay at her house so he can get some sleep, everything finally seems perfect. Too bad when Mari gets home she's surprised to find her mother, and Brie at her house waiting for her.

After the amazing night together is over, everything seems to be okay, like everything will work out. And that's when everything shatters for the both of them.

Wow, first of all I was lucky enough to get to read the Trystan Scott series back to back which has helped tremendously. Too bad for me now though because that ending is so...well just like Holly, leave you hanging even in the last minutes. It sucks a whole crap load. I saw the last line and was like. "No no no no no! That is not the ending." There may have been some hair pulling, and a tad bit of tears shed with that one.

Shattered is awesome. The perfect title for that insane ending and definitely left me wanting more. Can't wait to read the fifth novel in this amazing series, as I know H.M. Ward will not disappoint. I hope everyone checks this series out, because I know they will love it as much as I do.

Finally Mari and Trystan find out about each others home lives and become closer than ever! Love how the characters develop even more in this installment. Judging by the cliffhanger at the end, there will be more and I for one can't wait!

Another great book from a great author

This volume was just what I expected. FANTASTIC!!!!!! It picks up exactly where the last left off with Mari at Trystan's door during a violent situation. If you have read the other 3 in the series (which you should before you start this one), you know what to expect and you won't be disappointed. I cannot wait for the next one to be released.

I am beginning to be glad this is a part of a series. I don't think I could handle all the intesity in one sitting. I get too caught up in the story and the characters to put it down. Heck, there are times I even forget to breathe as I'm reading. I feel so connected to the characters. It doesn't seem to matter to me that they are still in high school and I'm waaaay past those drama filled days. I'm addicted. If you haven't started this series, give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

The author is great about updating fans on her website, [...] , and her facebook page, [...] . She also has contests and giveaways, including ARC's, which is how I was able read this before it was released and have a review up minutes after it was available. How cool is that?

My boys love these books

It's difficult to find stories that will capture the imagination of my 7 yo son, as reading is a bit of a struggle for him right now. I was happy to land on this series and we are now onto number 6. My 5 yo boy also likes them. We all curl up in my king-sized bed with my Kindle at night, and I read to them. Sometimes the books they like drive me crazy, but I find that I'm enjoying these right along with them. The occasional sketched pictures are good for breaking up the text for them. They also love pressing their fingers on words to highlight in the Kindle's dictionary, as well as swiping the pages. Anything that keeps them reading makes me happy!

You amaze me I can't believe all that awesomeness comes from on woman. Lol I don't personally know you but would love to meet you. I have read so many books romance erotica Etc etc. but your books melt me from beginning to the end.
I will say this books was great as great can be . I did miss the file on Soren but as I am typing this it crossed my mind that , that file will probably be an entire book by itself good idea.
Once again thank you for your amazing work and can't wait to get the mistress in my kindle, wish it was sooner but as always the wait is so worth it.

Erotica with Heart

Tiffany Reisz for all the stars. Ever. She creates a perfect blend of sex and humor, along with characters who have a strong sense of open-mindedness.

While each story is certainly kinky, what I didn't expect was to find a moral to the stories. A common thread throughout is that it's perfectly acceptable be yourself, always. One should never hide behind shame and guilt for what makes them happy.

Nora is such a fun character to read. I adore her sense of humor and even laughed out loud a few times. Something else unexpected for me is how much Sheridan's story got to me. Kingley's might have been the most intense, but Sheridan... Wow. They are all special in their own ways.

And I ate up all the subtle references to Søren. I love how he's always behind the scenes and still maintains a powerful presence. I'll never tire of reading about him.

Another home run for Tiffany.

If you're considering reading this novella then you obviously know what to expect from Tiffany Reisz. And, believe me, she doesn't disapoint. The only thing even remotely unsatisfactory about this book is that there are only five files. (Not that I'm complaining, the woman IS busy writing The Priest, so she gets a pass.)

Five sexy, smart, snarky stories about Nora's clients? Yes, please, Mistress. (Don't judge my alliteration. Refer back to the file titles. ;)) I think the Rock Star and the Switch were my favorites.

This little glimpse into Nora's life as a Domme made me love her just a little more. And I didn't think that was possible. Thanks, Tiff for another great read.

Escaping: a short story that needs a sequel ASAP

Its short, real short, but captivating! I have never done a review like this and im only doing this because this short story was outstanding! In about 2000 words, the author managed to capture my attention, keep my attention, and give me shivers... IN 2000 WORDS! I hope there is a sequel, if not this short story being made into a whole novel. LOVED IT

Tobias Carter just hopes the damaged carrier will stay together. Maybe they will get lucky and won't be followed from the city.

No such luck. Two Arriver drones are racing over the sand to intercept them. It doesn't look good, and Tobias has given up on prayer.

But, Reverend Rousseau hasn't given up on Tobias.

My thoughts

This is a really fast read. Alien beings have attacked the city and most of the ships, with survivors on board, didn't make it far.

With their last transport falling apart around him, Tobias is carrying on a conversation with the Reverend.

He's seen some terrible things back on Earth and doesn't want to go there with the holy man, but Rousseau is persistent.

After the read the last sentence, I thought about this story.

The ending was somewhat predictable, but I got the one I wanted.

I haven't read many science fiction books that deal with God and lack of faith.

The author spun it all together in a neat little package that will make you think too.

Great short, talented writer

I really enjoyed Mr. Patterson's writing; his vivid imagery and master storytelling left me wanting more when I finished reading. His thoughtful creation of another world reminded me of "The Hunger Games" or "1984". I look forward to great things to come from this writer. It's a short story but it reminded me of why I love reading so much.

Chandler, Later Novels

This volume contains the other novels, essays, and selected letters of Raymond Thornton Chandler who wrote many of the "private eye" novels that were popular from WW I to the 1960s. His novels told of the power and corruption of the ruling class in the Los Angeles region. (The reader can judge the relevance of these stories to their own locality.) This volume contains four novels: "The Lady in the Lake" (this title came from a Sir Walter Scott novel); "The Little Sister"; "The Long Goodbye"; and "Playback" (his last novel). There is a screenplay for "Double Indemnity" (the book is better than the movie, as is usually the case).

The "Selected Essays" has five articles: "The Simple Art of Murder" (contrasting life to art); "Writers in Hollywood" (about life as a screenwriter); "Twelve Notes on the Mystery Story" (his comments on the ingredients for a good mystery story); "Notes on English and American Style" comparing language and culture); and the "Introduction to "The Simple Art of Murder'" (his comments on mystery stories and writers). There are "Selected Letters" which tell about Chandler's life, his comments on mystery stories and writers, and about his fictional character "Philip Marlowe" (taken from an Elizabethan writer). These letters are informative.

The "Chronology" summarizes his life events from 1888 to 1959. [Does this description sound like a character in one of his novels?] The "Note on the Texts" provides information on the novels.
