Excellent Resource for Special and General Educators

I am an Assistant Professor in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia, I teach courses that prepare undergraduate and graduate students to become special and general educators. I am pleased to recommend this new book by Billingsley, Brownell, Israel, and Kamman as a tool new and veteran educators will deeply appreciate. Each chapter contains practical examples of evidence-based practices, easy to consume vignettes of sample students and their teachers, and bulleted lists of resources. The diversity of content in this book is impressive (appropriate for elementary, middle and high school levels), yet it is written in a very accessible manner tailor made for the busy teacher. In summary, you will not be disappointed with this book.

Excellent Reference Book.

This is an excellent reference book for a first year SPED teacher. It was really easy to follow and reference specific information. I think it will be really helpful through my first year. Had some great suggestions for communicating to parents and GenEd teachers. It also has tons of SPED website to find more information. I think it was well worth the money. I will try and do an update after using it my first year to comment on how often I used it.
