Just WOW!

When I bought this for my Kindle at $0.99 ,I was expecting a light love story, probably the 2818281th story of a emotionally scarred girl meeting a rich CEO who also has issues, they fight and they fall in love.End of story.
Boy was I wrong.
This is my first time that I feel compelled to write a review because Break Me Slowly is that good.
I love Adam & Katelyn, it is so easy to fall in love & relate to these characters in spite of their pasts and Adam's domineering character.
This story is powerful and impactful. Don't let its 165 pages lead you to believe that this is a light fluffy read.And it's even better knowing that the story will have its happy ending instead of me having to wait another 3-4 months for a sequel. No offense to others but I prefer to read a romance in one book/setting than having it split into in a sequel or a trilogy & dragging out the pain & the angst.
5 stars! I will definitely look out for books by Ms Joya Ryan!

Sound familiar? It should. Parts of Fifty and Bared to You. Author needs come up with her own material!

I am utterly annoyed with this book. I started reading this book and was taken aback by specific lines and the story, but not in a good way. This was soo similar to Bared to You and Fifty Shades that I recognized sayings/lines from the characters (with a little adjustment) from the above-mentioned books. For example, remember Bared to You where Gideon asks Ava if she is f****** anyone else because he wants to know what obstacles are in his way to f****** her? Yep, this was in this book. There was soo much of that. I recognized similar lines/quotes from Christian and Gideon. Another example, Kate is running her hand up Adam's spine while he was sleeping and he grabs her and starts yelling something like "Get your hands off me you sick b******." Sound familiar? Can you say Gideon Cross! Seriously, I am upset for the authors Sylvia Day and E.L. James. I would be peeved to say the least with this book and author. This book is a POOR attempt to take parts of Fifty and Bared to You and try to make it into their own little story. Sorry but for that, I hate this book! The author needs to come up with her own story and get her own ideas.

Okay, I'm not a prude or anything but that office scene was a bit too much for me. Like seriously, you're asking the girl out one day and then demanding that she gives you a BJ the next time you meet because of her 'bad behavior'? They haven't even had sex yet, this is their first sexual encounter. Of course, she happily gave him one and after that he thanks her for the service and she was dismissed out of his office. WTF.
Although...that sex scene in the club was...hmmm...interesting.
The insta-lust and angsty romance was alright but revelations regarding their relationship turned out to be too unrealistic for me in the end. Attraction at first sight? Believable. Lust at first sight? Sure, that's possible. But Love at first sight?
SPOILER: It just seem like an excuse to win back the heroine in a jiffy and to make the readers think that since he was in love with her from the very beginning, we can just overlook his past douchey behavior. END OF SPOILER.
It's just not realistic.
I'm still thinking if I should read the next book in the series though so that's something I guess. I think it's mostly because of the imaginative sex scenes, really.
