About the Author
Andrew Strauss was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in March 1977. He learned his game at Radley College and Durham University, and became captain of Middlesex in 2003.

This is one of the better cricket diaries going around. It's doesn't just tell you what happened, but gives plenty of interesting background information about why things happened.
It's easy for a sportsman writing these type of books to just focus on the positives, but Strauss covers the low points as well. He points out where he or his team-mates underperformed, which often gets glossed over in books written by current players.
The time-honoured format of the sportsman's diary is to fill it with nicknames, references to "how I was lucky enough to score 100", and all the other clichés you can think of (eg "I know we're playing the Bangladesh third eleven tomorrow but I'm sure they have some good players and we won't be treating them lightly").
This book is the opposite - it's well written, informative, and well worth your time to read it.
