North American New Right is the journal of a new intellectual movement, the North American New Right. This movement seeks to understand the causes of the ongoing demographic, political, and cultural decline of European peoples in North America and around the globe — and to lay the metapolitical foundations for halting and reversing these trends.
The North American New Right seeks to apply the ideas of the European New Right and allied intellectual and political movements in the North American context. Thus North American New Right publishes translations by leading European thinkers as well as interviews, articles, and reviews about their works.
Jonathan Bowden on Counter-Currents Publishing and North American New Right:
“. . . I regard initiatives like Counter-Currents as very important. Counter-Currents is, to my estimation, a sort of right-wing university. A sort of free access right wing university on the Internet, a radical right-wing university. The whole point now is that higher education has locked off the right end of the spectrum. You can learn about conservative ideas, you can learn about liberal ideas, you can learn about socialist ideas, you can learn about Marxist ideas in the university context; you can learn about all forms of pan-religiosity and so forth. But you can't learn about radical right wing ideas in the university context unless it's adversarial, unless you're deconstructive, unless you're against those ideas in a prior way.
“. . . Counter-Currents is one of the means by which people can educate themselves to defend themselves and their own honor and future prospects. Counter-Currents is what I personally believe the best, most educative right-wing site that I've come across, and it's used by an enormous plethora of people who want information about their own past and their own future. There's a great wealth of material on it, and it provides this tertiary education of the mind in a radical right sensibility. I believe that this is crucial if we're to have a future.
“. . . Only when people gain the courage and the conviction to read what is on Counter-Currents, to internalize it, and to defend their own possibilities—of development, biologically and culturally—will we see a change here in America and elsewhere.” — Jonathan Bowden, "Western Civilization Bites Back"

In all honesty: possibly the best single volume I've got out of thousands
By The Northern Light
"In an ideal world, it would be possible to be *for* oneself without being *against* anybody else; but as Carl Schmitt so cogently argues, the political real is constituted by the friend/enemy distinction, rooted in the potential for existential conflict between groups" (Greg Johnson in the introduction "Toward a North American New Right", page 2-3).
Since I wish everything to be ideal whilst reading this review and which will hopefully be followed by the purchase of this volume, it is best read whilst listening to the song by Dead Can Dance - "The Host of Seraphim" (The Host Of Seraphim (Remastered), for the book is simply *that* good that it even deserves its own soundtrack. Dr. Greg Johnson, known as the editor of Counter-Currents Publishing and author of Confessions of a Reluctant Hater, has meticulously edited this book with great care, making it the perfect deep read for those long summer days that seamlessly flow into each other without any real separation between them. The book is a first physical start for a line of thought that brands itself the North American New Right (NANR), a project that aims to transcend the nearly meaningless categories of 'Left' and 'Right', and exchange them with those "principles that any well-born man considered healthy and natural prior to 1789" to quote baron Julius Evola, known lodestar of the NANR as author of among others his classic Revolt Against the Modern World. For seminal introductions that might best be read prior to this volume (that honestly takes a few things for granted in its readers) is the following excellent two books on the New Right: Against Democracy and Equality: The European New Right and New Culture, New Right: Anti-Liberalism in Postmodern Europe. Having read those, you will be well equipped to tackle head-on the subjects of this book, which are varied indeed. Politics, religion, Traditionalism (see the aforementioned book by Evola and the other magnum opus of the subject The Crisis of the Modern World (Collected Works of Rene Guenon)), culture, environmentalism, demographics, movies, music, literature and so much else. Of course, NANR is not meant to be merely a strictly literary movement, for they have taken heed of Faye's words on the European New Right (ENR) on page 6: "Faye laments the "airlocks" sealing off different circles of the French Right. In particular, he claims that the Nouvelle Droite never engaged the Front National, because its members fundamentally misunderstood Gramsci, whose cultural battle was organically connected with the economic and political struggle of the Italian Communist Party", which is where the second volume from Counter-Currents comes into play, if I understand it correctly: Toward the White Republic.
The range of authors included tells volumes of the quality contained inside the volume, I mention a few of them: Francis Parker Yockey, Michael O'Meara, Julius Evola, Kerry Bolton, Alex Kurtagic, Amanda Bradley, Dominique Venner, Guillaume Faye, Robert Steuckers, Michael Walker, Kevin MacDonald and many more. If you are even looking at this book, you will probably be familiar with quite a few of these seminal authors and the range of subjects they chronicle. Seldom have I read such deep critiques of modernity and all that it entails. If Evola is "Our Marcuse, only better" as was so famously quipped by the then-leader of the MSI, then NANR is the true alternative mode of thought, better than the combined efforts of the entire mainstream media and publishing outlets. I'd like to see the range of authors included here pitted in a panel debate against the, say, 20 'best' authors and ideologues of the 'Right' and 'Left', and I think we'd have the funniest and most interesting debate ever put on a stage. Alas, a man can only dream, for the treatment given these subjects is simply not to engage them in debate, since that could indeed be very dangerous for the emperors with no clothes that today rules the world with their schemes. That being said, this is a book to be read by everyone from Morocco to Canada, from Japan to Congo, for as Greg Johnson writes on page 4: "[..] the best way to avoid ethnic hatred and conflict is universal nationalism, i.e., giving every distinct people a country or countries of their own. A durable foundation for world peace is the recognition that all peoples have an interest in preserving the principle of national self-determination. (There is also a common interest in preserving out natural environment.)"
There is not much more to say about this except purchase it: seldom have I found a volume where I find myself smiling and nodding continuously throughout the book, but alas, here it is. No matter which ethnic, cultural, political, religious, sexual or whatever else category you can conjure up that you brand yourself with, do your brain and your children's future a huge service and read this. It may freak your brain out at first, but you owe it to the world to give it a try, for the current modern world can't sustain itself much longer, and this book will be a magnificent ally in the future to come. Five stars and beyond.
